Harvest 2011
Weather conditions 2011
The harvest 2011 was characterised by a long and rainy winter, immediately followed by a spring with temperature below the average. At a first stage, these climate conditions have caused a slow growing of vegetation.
Starting from July, however, the temperature is abruptedly risen, leading to hot and dry days during the months of august and september.
The drought of august and september has brought about a fast ripening of the grapes and a subsequent decrease in wine production, which was of 39% in our company. The harvest started 20 to 25 days in advance if compared to the previous years.
